Not from a family that's been in Fodlan for long. Born in the mountains near Almyra. Born on the second day of the Guardian Moon.
Doesn't talk much about his family, at the request of his Father.
He's an expert flyer, arriving at the Monastary to improve himself even more. He has a neutral stance on politics, but he wants the world to be better than it is. Therefore, if he's convinced, he could join any of the Houses.
If not recruited to a side, he will be caught in a battle, unable to choose sides, and will perish in the midst of it, because he refuses to allow himself to be forced to choose one over another.
Post time skip, if recruited, he'll rejoin and become a flight instructor, teaching soldiers how to fly. His passion for helping will continue until he is either cut down in battle or ages until retirement.
Personality
He's a very confident young man, happy to show off his prowess to anyone who wants to see what he can do. He's earnest and eager to learn and always willing to lend a hand. He takes others' chores upon himself without asking for anything in return and can laugh himself out of any situation. He's guarded when asked about his family life, and it's not that he doesn't want to talk about it, it's because he was asked not to.
After all, his wish was to make a name for himself, not for his family.
He has a charisma about him that draws him to people, and people to him. He seems easygoing but throws himself into the work that he has to be reminded to sleep from time to time. If asked why, he smiles and says it's to battle habits that run in the family--habits that include slacking off.
He's very passionate in his desire to see a better, equal world for everyone. Anyone who shares this belief will find a steadfast ally in Afnir.

He is afraid of water because he nearly drowned as a child, and that experience made him avoid deep water ever since. Do not expect him to go fishing.
He wears an eyepatch because he got sick of people staring at the one blind eye he'd had since birth. His feelings are often sore when people mistake him for a thug because of it.
He has a hidden passion for cooking. He's self-taught but may as well could have been a chef in another life. If you can get him to cook, it's hard for him to stop.
If he doesn't go flying at least once a day, his mood drops drastically.
His wyvern is different than those often seen in Fodlan. Perhaps his family really was from a different land originally...
